Creating Your 3 Minute Spotlight Video.

Before you join the live training with Happiness Concierge, you are required to draft your elevator pitch using the prompts below.

Please dedicate approximately 45 minutes to the task.

How to create your pitch.

Draft your pitch by watching the video below and using the accompanying worksheet on creating a ‘case study’. (A case study is the term we use to describe a snapshot of a project).

What to include in your pitch for TIF.

Your video pitch needs to include the impact of your initiative to date, and what activities you have implemented/started.

Here are thought-starter sentences:

  • Since starting the [initiative], we are noticing progress made in …

  • We decided to measure success by [X], so far that is showing us …

  • The two activities we actioned were [X and Y]. So far, the impact is …

Keeping it simple helps the person hearing it understand its impact more clearly.

Sample script.

  • Prior to the innovation project x at the school, there was no shared understanding of what x meant.

  • Through the innovation project, I discovered teachers can teach literacy across the curriculum by ...

  • As a result, all Maths teachers are now working together on designing ...

  • The future possibilities empower students to be leaders in ...

  • I refer to it as the "Teacher Empowerment" effect - a single practice focusing on x has transformed how we build teacher confidence in ...

Examples of case studies used in a short format.

At Happiness Concierge, we use short case studies on our website to showcase how our work made an impact.

We also use short video explainers to communicate our message in under three minutes.

At work, you can create a short 3 minute update to share the impact your work has made, to share with peers.

What makes a great 3 minute pitch?

A great pitch is short and makes the impact clear to someone who is not an expert in your field.

Resist the temptation to include education-specific language, instead personalise your pitch for a ‘curious and educated 12 year old’ to reach a wider audience.

What happens next?

At the workshop

You’ll receive personalised feedback to improve your pitch.

Your pitch doesn’t need to be ‘finished’, polished, nor perfect to share at the workshop. Just started.

As long as you have a short draft, you’re good to go.

Following the workshop

Submit your video pitch for personalised feedback from Happiness Concierge.
