TAKE A MOMENT TO REFLECT BEFORE DISCOVERING

Stepping into coaching mode simply means accepting that our team have the skills to figure it out. To prepare for this session, here are questions you may like to ask yourself:

What is my default pattern when things go wrong? (No judgement here, we’re simply bringing our awareness to our habits).

Reflect on my team’s skills, mindset and experience, do they have everything they need to succeed, or are there opportunities to help them grow in these areas?

Asking these questions is a great way to start thinking about how to confidently step into a mentorship or coaching dynamic with your team member(s).

Let’s get started.

AFTER WATCHING

It’s time to think about your game plan and put your learning into practice.

Here are thought starters to get you going:

What do I notice about the role I play when supporting my team members?

What ‘catchphrases’ or questions will be helpful to flip the dynamic? Examples: ‘What ideas do you have?’, ‘What’s worked well so far?’, ‘What would the end result look like?’.

What are three experiences you remember from your early career that could give comfort or guidance to your team member?
