TAKE A MOMENT TO REFLECT BEFORE DISCOVERING

Effective reporting transforms average teams to high performing ones. There are questions you might like to ask yourself:

What is the #1 answer I need as a result of an update from my team member?

What is the #1 question my core stakeholder has when expecting an update from me?

Asking these questions is a great way to start thinking about how to start to create a dynamic of ‘push’ reporting in your team.

Let’s get started.

AFTER WATCHING

It’s time to think about your game plan and put your learning into practice.

Here are thought starters to get you going:

Complete the worksheet by clarifying what I need to know during a workflow, or what I can know following. What is the #1 thing I need to know the answer to?

Give yourself permission to keep updates as simple as possible. What could a one pager update look like, delivered regularly?

Reflect on ways to introduce this to your team. Outline what your intent is, what you need to know the answer to, the frequency, then ask them to create a format for your feedback. Alternatively, why not create a template and ask them to populate it.
